Where is Fair Park?

Fair Park is located in South Dallas, just minutes east of Downtown. Offices for Fair Park First and Spectra, managers of Fair Park, are located at 3809 Grand Ave, Dallas, TX 75210.

What is Fair Park?

Fair Park is a 277-acre recreational, educational, and entertainment complex located in Dallas, Texas. Fair Park is registered as a Dallas Landmark and a National Historic Landmark that is the home of the State Fair of Texas, museums, Cotton Bowl Stadium, an outdoor amphitheater, the Music Hall at Fair Park (Broadway shows, ballet, opera), and over one thousand events each year. Many of the buildings were constructed for the Texas Centennial Exposition in 1936. When was it founded?

Fair Park opened in 1886 with what was called the Dallas State Fair and became a world-known park in 1936 when it hosted the Texas Centennial Exposition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Texas Republic.

What is Fair Park First?

Fair Park First is a non-profit organization created to oversee the management and stewardship of Fair Park. As part of its mission, Fair Park First, through its Board Members and monthly Board meetings, will serve as the Manager responsible for preserving and revitalizing Fair Park. As an organization, Fair Park First’s primary goals are to improve this world-class park, entertainment and cultural campus, and the community’s access to it. What are the hours?

Fair Park is open from 6a - 10p. Please enter through gates 5 or 6. No fishing is allowed in Leonhardt Lagoon. Feel free to ask us any questions here.

Is the Park free?

Fair Park is free to the general public. If you are coming to the park for a specific event, please refer to the event page for additional costs and details as it may vary.

Are there public restrooms?

During regular Fair Park hours, public restrooms are closed. However, during the State Fair of Texas and other events and performances that occur year-round across Fair Park, public restrooms are open and specific to the event. Is Wi-Fi available?

There is no public Wi-Fi available at Fair Park.

What are the COVID-19/vaccine policies at Fair Park?

The safety and well-being of our guests, employees, and partners remain our top priority. As outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we encourage all guests to wear a face mask and practice social distancing while visiting Fair Park, its resident institutions, and events. 

COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Site: 

In light of the COVID surge related to Omicron, the State Fair and Dallas County are partnering to offer testing and vaccination at Fair Park. Testing will take place six days a week, Mon-Sat from 7:30 am - 4 pm and Sunday from 10 am - 4 pm with appointments strongly encouraged (hours may extend if demand continues to be high). Fair Park COVID-19 Alert

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures to protect our guests. However, there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.  By entering Fair Park grounds, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and all Fair Park venues disclaim any liability related thereto.

By the guidance and recommendations set forth by the CDC and local health officials, we respectfully request that the following guests not attend this event:

  • Guests who are feeling sick or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms (including fever, coughing, and shortness of breath); 
  • Guests who have been diagnosed with, or believe to have contracted, COVID-19, unless you have had no fever for 72 hours (without the use of medicine) and 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared;
  • Guests who have been in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 10 days; and 
  • Guests who have traveled internationally in the past 10 days.

Vaccination cards are not a requirement when visiting or touring Fair Park's outdoor parks, campus, or architecture. However, each resident institution may have different COVID-19 policies and guidelines to which guests must adhere. Additionally, each event held at Fair Park may have specific COVID-19 policies and guidelines for that specific event which you can find on their Event page.

What is the speed limit when driving through Fair Park?

The speed limit when driving through and around Fair Park is 10 mph. Please respect all pedestrians.
